Edurio Platform: Managing Access Just Got Easier

By Gatis Narvaiss, Director of Product, Edurio

Access management has always been part of the Edurio platform. Now, it’s faster, simpler, and fully in your hands. The redesigned User Management Page launches today and is now live across all Edurio accounts.

Why we evolved access management

Edurio has long supported schools and trusts with high-quality surveys and benchmarking tools, helping teams make the most of every survey cycle. Traditionally, a few core team members handled most of the activity, including designing, launching, and reviewing surveys, while others simply needed access to results.

A new way of working with Edurio Unlimited

That has changed with Edurio Unlimited, our offer that enables school groups and schools to run surveys as often as they like. Surveys are no longer occasional projects. They have become part of everyday activities. As such, waiting until the very end of each survey to assign permissions is no longer efficient or practical. We needed a new approach to access, one that is simple, quick, and easy to manage across growing teams.

The new User Management page equips administrators with the tools to manage user roles and permissions efficiently and independently. You can now manage access as and when you need. For example, you might assign a safeguarding lead to run their own safeguarding survey for pupils, grant school-level visibility to headteachers, or adjust a colleague’s permissions when their responsibilities shift.

Reflecting our values

This update is more than a functionality improvement; it reflects our company values:

Openness. We’ve simplified various needs, use cases, and platform granularity into two role types and three sections, each with distinct permissions. We believe that true openness and transparency are only possible when you have a clear and easy-to-use overview of your data, and we believe we’ve achieved this.

Ownership. You’ve always had full control over your team’s access and roles. Now you have more flexibility to change them whenever you need to.

Genuine care. We’ve updated the platform so that roles and permissions reflect the real responsibilities within trusts and schools. It’s important to us that the platform aligns with your needs and how you work.

Growth. Surveys offer greater value when those leading initiatives and driving change can directly learn from existing results and create new surveys. With growth in mind, this feature enables more people to easily access results, as well as design and run surveys themselves.

Who will this update benefit the most?

Whether you’re managing a handful of users or hundreds across a trust, this update is especially useful for:

  • Network-level administrators, typically part of a trust’s central team, who oversee access across multiple schools
  • School administrators, such as headteachers or operations leads, who manage user accounts and roles at the individual school level

What is the User Management Page?

The User Management Page is your central hub for managing who has access to what across your organisation. Whether you’re overseeing a single school or a large trust, it gives you a clear, secure way to update users, assign roles, and adjust permissions as things change.

From the survey template library to results, it combines the tools your team needs with the flexibility to control access at both network and school levels. It’s designed to simplify oversight, reduce admin time, and help you stay on top of who can do what.

What you can do now

With the updated User Management Page, platform administrators can:

  • Add new users and assign the right role and permissions from day one
  • Edit user access as responsibilities change
  • Remove users or roles when staff leave or move between schools
  • Assign precise permissions for surveys, results, and respondent access
  • Review user details like last login, role, and permission level
  • Search, filter, and export user data for audits or internal reviews

Roles and permissions are fully customisable. You can:

  • Assign full administrative access to those who need to manage users, settings, surveys, and results
  • Give other users limited access—for example, allowing someone to view results only or design surveys without publishing them

Everyday ways it can help

Here’s how these updates can simplify your daily work

  • Need to confirm your regional lead can access all schools? Use the search and filter tools to check visibility in seconds.
  • Someone’s role changed mid-term? Quickly update their access so they’re ready to go from day one.
  • Expanding your survey audience? Easily onboard the right people—give your safeguarding lead access to run pupil surveys, your HR lead to oversee staff surveys, or your vice-principal permission to explore feedback on key initiatives.
  • Staff changes? Review and update user roles when people take on new responsibilities or move between schools.
  • Inactive users? See who hasn’t logged in recently and send a quick reminder to help them stay engaged
