Strengthening Student Self-Efficacy in the Classroom

Delve into an engaging webinar on Bandura’s Self-Efficacy Theory in Action, a book by Dr. Neil Gilbride that examines how self-efficacy influences student motivation, behaviour, and achievement – and how educators can actively nurture it.

Wednesday 30th April at 12 pm (1-hour session)

How can teachers and school leaders empower students to believe in their own potential and achieve better outcomes?

In this conversation with Dr Neil Gilbride and Ernest Jenavs, co-founder of Edurio, we will explore research-backed, practical strategies that educators can use to enhance pupils’ confidence, independence, and perseverance in learning.

We will tackle important issues such as:

  • Engagement: Why do some pupils quickly disengage while others push through obstacles?
  • Lesson structure: How can lesson structure impact students’ belief in their own abilities?
  • Self-motivation: What techniques encourage students to take responsibility for their learning and actions?

Whether you’re a trust or school leader focused on improving pupil outcomes or a teacher navigating daily classroom challenges, this session will provide valuable insights and practical steps to create a learning environment where students feel capable and motivated to succeed.
