Pupils at Risk Report

Spot the signs early. Support the pupils who need it most.

Some pupils struggle silently. The Pupils at Risk report helps you see the signs sooner.

This optional add-on for the Pupil Experience or Pupil Safeguarding Survey gives you a confidential, class-by-class list of named pupils who may benefit from additional support, based on the areas your school chooses to focus on.

Whether it’s safeguarding, wellbeing, engagement, belonging, or something else entirely, we’ll help you tailor the criteria to match your school’s policies and concerns. You decide what matters and we’ll turn pupil voice into clear, focused insight.

Pupils are flagged as:

  • Observe — moderate concern; may need a check-in or closer monitoring
  • Investigate — higher concern; may need more urgent follow-up

Complete the form to see how this could work in your school or trust.

A practical tool for pastoral care and policy

The Pupils at Risk report helps you:

  • Link pupil feedback directly to specific actions or referrals
  • Identify risk patterns across classes or cohorts
  • Strengthen your existing safeguarding and wellbeing policies
  • Use time and pastoral resources where they are needed most

By connecting responses to named individuals, you can act early with confidence and care.

This is more than a report. It’s a step towards earlier support, better conversations and a stronger, more inclusive school culture.

FAQs: Pupils at Risk Report

Who is this report for?
This report is designed for school and trust leaders responsible for pupil support and safeguarding — such as DSLs, heads of year, SENCOs, pastoral leads and senior leaders. It helps you make informed decisions about where additional support may be needed.

How does the report work?
The report uses responses from the Pupil Experience or Pupil Safeguarding survey to highlight named pupils who may need closer attention. You choose which areas to focus on — for example, safeguarding, wellbeing, engagement, belonging, or others that reflect your school’s priorities. Pupils are flagged as either Observe (moderate risk) or Investigate (higher concern), based on the criteria you select.

Are we limited to those four areas?
Not at all. Those are just common examples. The Pupils at Risk report is fully flexible — you can tailor the risk criteria to reflect your pastoral focus, behaviour policy, inclusion priorities, or wider wellbeing strategy. We’ll help you set this up based on what matters most to your school or trust.

Will pupils be named?
Yes, if you choose to collect identifiers as part of your survey setup. This allows for targeted follow-up and timely support. The report is only shared with authorised staff and should always be handled confidentially.

What kind of issues can the report help identify?
The report helps you spot signs that may otherwise go unnoticed — for example, pupils who feel unsafe, disconnected, lonely, overwhelmed or disengaged. These insights can prompt check-ins, referrals or additional support from pastoral teams.

Is the data reliable?
The report reflects how pupils felt at the time of the survey. It’s not a diagnosis, but a prompt — a way to identify signals and explore them further. Use it alongside your existing knowledge and systems to build a full picture of pupil needs.

How does this support our school’s safeguarding or wellbeing work?
The report provides structured, evidence-based insight to help you act early — supporting your safeguarding duties, behaviour reviews, inclusion strategy or SEND provision. It strengthens your ability to respond to pupil needs in a timely and consistent way.

How often can we use this report?
The report is available as an optional add-on whenever you run the Pupil Experience or Pupil Safeguarding survey. Many schools use it termly or annually to track changes over time.

Can we spot patterns across classes or year groups?
Yes. The report includes flags grouped by class, making it easy to identify trends — such as a class with low engagement or a year group where multiple pupils feel unsupported.

Will we get help understanding the results?
Absolutely. Your Edurio contact can help you interpret the data and plan next steps. For high-risk pupils, you can also request a detailed Investigate report with deeper insights into individual responses.

Do we need to set anything up differently to get the report?
Yes — to generate the report, you’ll need to include pupil identifiers (such as names or unique codes) when setting up your Pupil Experience or Pupil Safeguarding survey. We’ll guide you through this during onboarding or survey setup.
