New national research: Trends in the quality of education

Launching early October: National trends on the quality of education

The Department for Education highlights high-quality and inclusive education as one of its five core trust quality descriptors, and this commitment is clear with the ongoing national review of the curriculum.

Beyond this, our recent survey conducted in partnership with The Confederation of School Trusts, reveals that improving the quality of education is the second highest priority for multi-academy trusts in the coming year. These findings have led to the creation of this report on High-Quality and Inclusive Education.

Drawing on five years of national data, this report offers valuable insights into how schools are addressing key challenges in inclusivity and engagement, identifying both strengths and areas for improvement.

Key topics addressed:

  • Key National Trends: A five-year overview of the progress and challenges in delivering high-quality and inclusive education.
  • Teacher Support: How confident and supported teachers feel in delivering an inclusive curriculum.
  • Pupil Engagement: Insights into pupil participation in extracurricular activities and how they perceive the relevance and inclusivity of the curriculum.
  • Parental Involvement: How well schools are communicating with parents and keeping them informed.
  • Behaviour and Wellbeing: Addressing pupil behaviour, including violence towards teachers, and its impact on the school environment.
