How do I win an Edurio Award?
You may have seen schools and trusts in your area celebrating their Edurio Awards, sharing certificates, local press coverage and recognition for their work.
So what are these awards, and how can your school or trust achieve one?
In short, Edurio Awards recognise schools and trusts that are performing exceptionally well in stakeholder feedback, based on national benchmark data from staff, parent and pupil surveys.
This guide explains exactly how they work and what you need to do to be eligible.
What are Edurio Awards based on?
Each year, we analyse our national dataset, covering thousands of schools and hundreds of trusts across the UK, to identify those achieving outstanding results in key areas of stakeholder experience.
Awards are based on specific survey questions, benchmarked nationally. This means recognition is not subjective. It reflects genuinely exceptional performance compared to peers across the country.
What did Edurio award in 2025?
Each year, we select a set of categories linked to key questions from our staff, parent and pupil surveys completed in the 2024/2025 academic year.
These focus on the areas that matter most to schools and trusts, such as staff retention, parental engagement and pupil experience.
Here were the award categories we chose to award in 2025, and the questions on which the awards were based:
What do you need to qualify?
Whilst being a top performer plays a significant part, winning a national award is slightly more complex than just getting good results. To qualify, you must meet three essential criteria based on our core benchmark questions.
1. You must have the data
You must have completed an Edurio Stakeholder Experience Survey for Staff, Parents, or Pupils within the qualifying period, and you must have asked the relevant key question in that survey as well as the award-specific question (refer to the image above).
Staff: In the past three months, how often have you considered resigning from your post?
Parents: In general, how satisfied are you with the school’s efforts to engage you as a parent?
Pupils:
Primary – How happy are you at this school?
Secondary – How happy are you to be studying at this school?
2. You must beat the National Average
You also need to have asked the key survey question, and the results for this question must exceed our national benchmark average.
This ensures that awards recognise schools and trusts delivering truly exceptional outcomes, not just strong internal performance.
3. Your results must be representative
We only award these to schools and trusts with more than 25 respondents to the question. This threshold is essential because it ensures the results accurately reflect the entire staffing body or stakeholder group, providing better insight and greater confidence in the outcome.
FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions)
What questions are you going to be awarding next year? I want to win one!
While some of the core benchmark questions remain the same year on year, we don’t always award the same topics. With the introduction of new questions and the continually evolving education landscape, we want these awards to remain relevant and valuable. We aim to keep them agile in what they award, so keep surveying and keep excelling!
I only survey my staff. How can I get awards for parents and pupils too?
Simply put: you need the data! Awards are based on feedback from staff, parents, and pupils. If you want to be eligible for all categories, reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) today to set up your next Pupil or Parent Experience Survey.
How many schools or trusts are the awards out of?
We survey thousands of schools and hundreds of trusts across the UK, meaning your award is a national achievement! For the most up-to-date figures and specific details on the award pool, please refer to the information shared directly by your CSM.
What do we win?
We provide schools and trusts with a beautiful certificate for display in their spaces to support their publicity. Crucially, we also provide guidance on how to make the most of your award with local publications and news outlets, including quotes and support for your press strategy.
