Launch of The Edurio Equality Diversity & Inclusion Report
Last year, Edurio surveyed over 16,500 staff in the UK on their views of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in their schools. Discover the findings of the report and join the discussion on how these insights can help us improve our EDI strategies in our schools.

Mandy Coalter: How to Develop a Meaningful EDI Strategy

This session will cover the importance of developing a common understanding and language on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

  • How to engage senior leaders and ensure this has commitment from the top
  • A focus on Inclusion to ensure it sticks long term
  • Approaches to building greater diversity


Masterclass Session Two

Jerrel D Jackson FRSA, MIoD: Mind the Gap. Addressing Racial Inequalities Head on.

Developing principles to address racial inequalities in education head on through the lens of Leaders/Professionals and Teachers. Approach to recognising allyship, language and permission to change through the unknown/uncertain territory.

 

Masterclass Session Three
David Hermitt: How to be Inclusive of All Faiths and Beliefs in Schools

This session will provide an opportunity for delegates to consider important questions such as

  • How can we respond positively to equality issues involving religion and race?
  • What are the implications of the Equality Act 2010 and PSED for schools
  • What will Ofsted be looking for when they visit?
  • How does this affect policy and practice in school?
  • Is there any good practice to adopt?

There will be opportunities for:

Facilitated discussions on typical scenarios and areas for development to take back to school with feedback and next steps and questions for follow up.

Masterclass Session Four
Laura McConnell: Accessibility, NOT inclusion


Most disability work focuses on inclusion i.e. how can we take our current offer or service and make adjustments to accommodate the needs of individuals. The service remains the same, but disabled people are ‘fit into it’.

What if your service did not need to be altered?

This session will focus on accessibility: what it means, and practical tips you can use to make your service accessible for all.
